Friendship Model A Brinks Truck

Welcome to our Model A Ford Brinks Truck home page.

A few facts about the truck:

  1. It is a 1929 Ford Model A Panel Truck

  2. It is modeled on the original Brinks trucks from the 1930s.

  3. Restoration and design was masterminded by Conrad Gerdes. His vintage gas station equipment can be seen on Hwy 50 near Dillsboro. He specializes in Model A restoration and customization, and we thank him for such a fine job on our parade vehicle.

Where will this classic be next?

Here is a "before" shot, when we found the panel truck at Conrad Gerdes place.

This is a shot during the restoration, after the paint was on, and most of the mechanical work was done.

Here we are in our first parade: the 2015 Dillsboro Homecoming Parade!

Ready for the first run at the 2015 Dillsboro Homecoming Parade.

Our first run had little burp when the motor overheated a bit and we had to push. Luckily our first parade/test run was still a success!

We took to the streets of Versailles in the Pumpkin Show Parade 2015! This time, with Tracy Lemon behind the wheel.

We had a blast at the Aurora Farmers Fair Parade 2015!

It rained and rained at the Aurora Farmers Fair 2015 Parade, and we discovered that there was not enough room in the truck for everyone....

....except the cute little girl that snuck into the front seat to escape the rain!

The "gang" at the Aurora Farmers Fair Parade 2015.

Looks like crime does not pay at the Rising Sun Navy Bean Festival Parade!

Each branch office interprets the parade vehicle in their own "special way." It looks like the Rising Sun
branch office staff have devious minds! Great fun at the Rising Sun Navy Bean Festival Parade!

Madman Mark drove the truck, trying to escape the bandits at the Rising Sun Navy Bean Fest Parade!

Once again... crime does not pay in Rising Sun!
